Christmas is almost here! Can you believe how quickly this year has gone by?

Every year I promise myself a pair of matching PJs and this year, I finally did it.

I used Simplicity pattern 8803 and made a nice matching set. I used size M for the pants and size S for my top. Truth be told, I probably could’ve gone a size up in the top.

My fabric is from Minerva. It’s a quilting cotton fabric with a Scotty dog pattern. It really reminds me of something that you would see out of J. Crew (which I guess is why I’m so attracted to it).

The sewing pattern included a really nice piping detail. This is optional, but I’ve never done piping before –and it was actually really easy. I highly recommend getting a piping foot for this, but if you don’t have one you can also use a zipper foot. My piping foot is from Madam Sew, but I’m sure you can buy it from any manufacturer.

Overall, this was an easy project, and also very practical since I brought my PJs with me on Christmas vacation. I definitely will make another pair in the future. Maybe white or navy blue with complementary accents?

Happy Holidays! Xo

So cute. I haven’t done piping in years so thanks for the tip about which foot I should use.😘

I just cut this pattern out…crossing my fingers it turns out cute as yours. My measurements put me right in the medium size, but every simplicity pattern I’ve made turns out HUGE so I used the finished garment measurements. Hoping it turns out ok!
