Hey sewing friends! I know it’s been over a month since I last blogged – but life has been pretty busy!
So I figured my first post in over a month should be about my most recent sewing projects.
In May I had a burst of energy and pushed out 4 projects in one week! Now, I’m not a super human…most of these projects are considered “easy to sew” or “beginner friendly,” so they all came together quickly.
First let’s unpack a UFO project. ME2054 jeans which I started at the beginning of the year paired with modified M8117. M8117 is actually a cut out top, I modified it to make it a full length top.

Next up, a lounge set featuring my new obession: ric rac trim. M8392 (top) and M7757 (pants) are made from a bedsheet set! I’ve had the bedsheets for over a year, purchased from the Goodwill for $5.

I followed this up with a floral jumpsuit, M8069. I used mystery box fabric from Mood for this tried and true pattern. I’ve made this pattern 4 times at this point – highly recommend this pattern if you’re new to sewing!

I finished out the week with N6507. I made this New Look pattern with a red bedsheet and white ric rac trim. I purchased the red bedsheet on the same trip to the Goodwill that I bought the pink sheets.

Going into June – I made a new McCall’s pattern 8516, a caftan from the new Summer collection. This caftan is my new favorite for sure. The fabric is from my mystery fabric box from Mood. I made a full step by step tutorial for this pattern and you can watch it here.

My most recent sewing project that I completed this week is M8119! I’ve been wanting to make this jumpsuit for a while now and I’m so glad I finally got to make it. This was a pretty quick sew with the exception of the zipper giving me a hard time. I’d consider that an isolated issue from the pattern, lol.
