Happy New Year! 2024 is done – and 2025 is here! This past year came and went sooo quickly and the final week was no different. I blinked, and it was over.

So, to catch you up… I made a NYE dress out of sequins. While I didn’t have anywhere to go, I honestly wanted to make something gorgeous and over the top to close out the year. I used McCall’s M7683 and stretch sequin fabric from Hobby Lobby.

I made it in 2 days and thankfully I took these pictures when it was still 60 degrees outside. (As I type this, we are experiencing freezing temps!)

Next, I recapped EVERYTHING I made in 2024. It was 60 makes. In all honesty, that’s a ballpark figure. I lost count, and even as I write this I just realized that I forgot a make or two. Oh well, it happens.
But I went out of my comfort zone this year. I dived in formal wear and costumes, plus all my normal handmade wardrobe makes.

Last but not least, I did a last minute collab with my friend Chann (Made by Chann on socials). We discussed our favorite things from 2024. From all things sewing related to favorite shows, albums and all sorts of pop culture moments. We had so much fun making this – we have already planned to do it again, haha.

Okay, so now that you’re all caught up… what were your favorite things about 2024? What are some of your favorite makes of the year? Let me know!
