I had a wedding to go to in Mexico in June and I promised myself that I would take one thing with me that I made.
And a week before my departure, I was on the hunt for the perfect bathing suit cover up tutorial.
I found this Kimono tutorial by the Crafty Gemini on YouTube. It’s about 8 minutes long and very easy to follow. I figured a Kimono is kind of like a beach cover up, right? And my hypothesis was correct.
What I really liked about this tutorial was there was far more direction than I noticed in other tutorials for beach cover ups. Most DIY videos I came across for this only asked that you make a hole for your neckline, but I wanted something more sophisticated and sustainable.
I went to Joann’s and found a clearance rayon challis fabric and bought hot pink pom pom trim from Amazon. I also made mine a little bit longer to cover my bum.
It took me about an hour to complete, including the pom-pom trim.
I kept the pattern because I fully intend to make more for next Summer.
XO.
