The essential tank: V for Victory for Chalk & Notch

This. Is. A. Must. For your sewing collection. Seriously, if you’re looking for the perfect tank to add to your wardrobe or to test the waters with basics and essentials then this is the pattern you want.

The Victory tank is the first pattern by Chalk & Notch in 2019. It’s got 2 views, one is a crop top with extra straps in the front or this one, a full length tank with a scoop neck. Both views come with A/B or C/D cups which is right up my ally. I always want to have comfort, ease and the right fit for my torso and chest area.

This is a very quick sew. I’d say its for a beginner. I made this in a day with breaks of course, but if I made this non-stop it would probably take about 2-3 hours.

The tank is fully lined which was different for me but I actually really love this feature. When I was making the tank, I was so focused on making sure that my print lined up perfectly that I ran out of space to use for the lining piece. So I grabbed some rayon from another make and added it to my lining. What I realized is that the contrasting colors ultimately gave me 2 tanks. I haven’t actually tried it on both sides, but it seemed pretty even Steven on both sides to me. LOL. Either way, I liked the feature especially because I can see myself making and wearing another for the cooler months and it would be nice to have a layering garment that was lined.

No doubt, I would make this again. I think this would make an excellent stash buster project -which is something I really have to get better at doing.
