Hey Sewing Friends! I made a super simple hoodie on Friday night! I hope you all picked this up during the Simplicity sale this weekend – because it’s so easy and so good, you really shouldn’t pass it up.

I made Mimi G’s Simplicity 9636. It’s a short sleeve hoodie with a kangaroo pouch, drawstring hoodie. Like just easy and perfection for this “up and down” Spring weather.

I used sweatshirt fleece that I had from Fabric.com (RIP)… in this really pretty mauve color. It took about 2 yards of fabric.

I made View A in size 10 which gave me a ton of ease, but I wanted it a little baggy and comfy.

I also left the sleeves unfinished. I couldn’t decide to do a narrow hem or the “tuck in” that they recommended in the pattern instructions.

I made this in one night. And honestly, I thought I was going to make this into a dress, but it just didn’t work out. And that’s okay because I really like this a basic hoodie.

We’ll be going on lots of road trips this month and I think this will come in handy. And I definitely want to make another one if the opportunity presents itself.

Until next time, xo.

Hi Maureen. I love your hoodie! I had the same idea to make the hoodie dress. I figured I would just add 30″ to the length and that would be it. I may ask what happened that made you not do the dress length?

Hey Lana, I think for me it just didn’t work for my height. I’m short, lol. Nothing in particular as far as measurements and the overall pattern. I say go for it!
