Hey friends! How are you in hanging in there? I know some states are lifting restrictions but I know a lot of us are still being really cautious.

I’ve had a lot of time (like most of us) to really sink my teeth into a project that I’ve been itching to do for quite some time.

You see, I am definitely a classic button down girl (when I’m not absorbing all things bohemian) and I lost a RTW shirt just like this one. Heartbroken, yes. Opportunity to recreate it? Abso-freaking-lutely!

For this look for less I used Simplicity 8830 by Mimi G Style. The view calls for pockets and a belt. But since I’m on the bustier side, I didn’t think the pockets would agree with my frame. Am I right?

So, I made the shirt, sans the pockets and the belt. But I kept the tabs on the shoulders and the original collar, hem and length. Constructing the shirt took almost no time. I dragged my feet with the buttons. LOL. I think most sewists that. It’s just one of those steps, ya know?

This shirt is perfect for the Spring (and the office…whenever we get back to normal). And I’m pretty sure I won’t be misplacing this one any time soon.

TTYL…

Love it! A button up is on my to-do list as well. One of these days!

You look fabulous! And nixing the pockets was a good move. It’s perfect.
