If you’ve been following me since last Summer then you know that I am no stranger to the palm leaf print. Gosh I hope that it never goes away! This trend has been up and down my closet for the past 2 Summers without pause. It’s like my leopard for the warmer months.
I went down a rabbit hole on Pinterest one night and noticed all these beautiful 2 piece matching sets. I realized quickly I had everything I needed to make my own!

A lot of the inspiring pics online show solid outfits, but you know I’m no stranger to print. So I made mine a little jazzy. I was a little bummed that I couldn’t take pictures outside of this outfit… this past weekend it was 50 degrees in Charlotte. Ummm, but why? LOL. I couldn’t show that much skin in that sort of weather. I know I would certainly get some looks.

For my top, I used a Simplicity x Mimi G pattern 8655 that I’ve made 3 times. Twice last year. I just feel so confident and sexy when I wear it so I had to do it again. The pants are a McCall’s pattern 7757 that I made as shorts last year. I have to say that I was presently surprised by the really great snug, fabulous fit of the pants. It’s very rare that I will use a big 4 pattern for pants. The pants are really easy since they only require elastic. As usual, I took the rise up 1 inch and took the pant leg up 1 inch before cutting the pattern. I hemmed the pattern at 1 inch and it seemed to work with my 2 inch sandals.

I know it seems like another unrealistic outfit, but I’m sorry I’m not making t-shirts. I’m making clothes for when we come out of the other side of this lockdown. We have a cruise next year and this will definitely be in my suitcase!
