Wow, where to begin?! I was so defiant and against making this pattern because I saw it everywhere during the Fall. And if you know me, then you know that I don’t enjoy hype about anything. But the more I saw it, the more I saw how confident people felt wearing it. So, I had no choice but to hop on the bandwagon.
I had this great scarlet-wine knit stretch jersey fabric that I intended for something else -but I ended up using it for this project and I have no regrets. I would be lying if I said that this was easy to cut. The fabric was a challenge to cut and that took longer than I wanted. I highly recommend getting your rotary cutter handy. The pattern? A piece of cake! I actually sized down about 2 sizes since I used a stretch fabric and the pattern included the gathers.
I am pleasantly surprised at how much I have grown to love the fabric with the pattern.
I used view B, since it’s the shortest and I’m 5’1”. I felt like anything else would look disproportionate on me. I was half right. LOL. I will definitely make this again, and when I do, I will probably use view C since it’s a bit longer and more modest.
I will also likely consider this pattern with black fabric to make a LBD next time.
PS -Don’t let the pictures fool you. I was posing right outside a Duck Donuts and definitely ate a maple bacon donut following this shoot. LOL. Happy Holidays!
