Hello friends! In an effort to take my Etsy shop to the next level, I decided that I wanted to begin selling sunglass cases. After some trial and error -I came up with my own pattern that is sure to fit most sunglasses -or glasses. Let’s get started!

Supplies:

  • Lining fabric
  • Outside fabric
  • Interfacing
  • Thread (contrasting or matching)
  • Cricut machine (optional)
  • Iron-on vinyl (optional)
    1. Cut 1 piece of outside fabric, 1 piece of lining fabric and 1 piece of interface fabric at 4 3/4 inches by 16 inches for each.img_4845
    2. Iron the outside piece of fabric to the interfacing.img_4846
    3. Right sides together, sew your pieces together leaving a 2-3 inch opening at one end of your case.img_4847
    4. Turn your case inside out. Be sure to iron all sides and corners. You will want to take a pen or scissors to push out the corners. img_4848
    5. Tuck your unfinished edges and top stitch both sides. You may use a contrasting or matching thread.img_4850
    6. If you are using your Cricut, create any applique that you will like. You may use my template below:

  1. Apply your Cricut design to your case BEFORE you sew your case together to avoid uneven application.img_4853
  2. Sew your case together wrong sides together using contrasting or matching thread.img_4854

If you are using your Cricut:

  1. Download the template/image to your computer a PNG or JPG.
  2. Head to Cricut Design Space and upload your photo.
  3. Select your image type as: Simple
  4. Click “Continue”
  5. Click on the areas around your picture that you want to remove. This will enable the cutter to cut around these spaces.
  6. Click “Continue”
  7. Save as a “Cut Image.
  8. Now your image can be used in a new project! Please note: you may have to scale your image down to fit on one side of your case.

Enjoy!
