Back in September I did an IG taker for D&H Fabrics. Tammy, the owner, gifted me beautiful leopard print that a girl like me just couldn’t resist!
I wanted to maximize this fabric to the fullest and did not want to make a dress. So instead, I made a “faux dress” if you will… 🙂 I asked for 3 yards for my project and made an Ogden cami (a tried and true pattern) and a skirt with buttons that I made using McCall 7981 view B.
The cami is definitely a layering piece that I plan to wear over and over again this Fall and Winter. I’ve worn it a few times to work and have gotten compliments on it.
The skirt is very dramatic, in my opinion. The fullness and the print are very attention grabbing. And I always think that this looks great with some sort of red accent… red lips? Shoes? Something subtle, but still makes a statement.
I styled my skirt with my YSL tee. It’s one of my favorites, but I love pairing a casual tee with a contrast.
But truth be told, you can wear this skirt with a nice chunky sweater, or… (if I’m ever brave enough) wear it with another print? That’s tempting…
