Happy Wednesday everyone! If you follow me on Instagram then you know that I teased these pants on Sunday only to turn around and have it rain for 2 days before pictures. Oh the horror!
But that’s life sometimes. These pants were a dream come true. I knew I wanted a pair of casual striped pants but I also knew that I didn’t want them to look like jammies either.

I was inspired by this Pinterest photo of Kourtney Kardashian (when they dressed normal and didn’t fetishize over black culture) in her striped pants and just knew I had to recreate the look.

The Pietra pants by Closet Case seemed like a no brainer since I have made the shorts twice before and knew the fit would be perfect. I also knew that the wide leg version would be just enough drama (without looking too cheesy).

When it came to matching the stripes even someone like myself whose done it several times had concerns. Because these pants have 2 panels and a pocket…I had to be very strategic about my placement. I basically used the pattern instructions as a guide to figure out which panel connected where and cut each leg individually like a puzzle.

I wish I took pictures but it was kind of a stressful situation. Luckily for all of you, I’ve matched stripes a few times here on my blog and I have a couple of links to reference of my own.
Until next time, TTYL!
