Hey y’all! Today I’m sharing a FREE pattern! It’s the Peppermint Magazine Wrap Top. It’s a really easy pattern that you can hack -so you know that is my jam. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • At least 2 yards of fabric (60 inches wide)
  • The free downloadable pattern
  • Interfacing

I’ve seen a lot of really pretty versions of this on Instagram, so I was not short on inspiration when it came to this pattern. I bought my fabric last year (and I can’t even remember the name of the shop) and I only bought 2 yards since the shipping from Canada was INSANE.

For the pattern I made a few modifications.

  • I made bell sleeves. I used the original sleeve and cut it at the bicep. Then I measured 1.5 times the circumference of my arm and made the “bell” piece. I gathered the top of the bell sleeve and put elastic on the bottom to close the sleeve.
  • I changed the ties. In the instructions it calls for you to hem the raw edges. Instead I cut 4 pieces and sewed 2 of them right sides together and trimmed the edges then turned it right side out. I did this because my fabric is one sided and I thought it would look better if the fabric was visible from all angles on the ties.

I wish this pattern had facings for the front instead of just hemming but I understand why it didn’t.

Until next time! Xoxo
